Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the Real World

We encourage you to educate yourself and learn the benefits of mild HBOT

Generally, mHBOT use is a personal choice to explore for personal wellness, recovery, or health goals. We wanted to share information we have collected on this page so you can learn how others have used and are currently using mHBOT. These will be in the form of  of news articles, research papers, podcasts, and videos. Of course this is not an exhaustive list, and we will update it with information as more people indicate how they have used mHBOT.

Below are some non-traditional indications people have reported they have used mHBOT and benefits they derived from the therapy:

Reducing Inflammation Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Autism Mold Toxicity
Post COVID Brain Fog Personal Performance Personal Wellness Sports Injuries

Mild HBOT may help reduce inflammation.

"Inflammation is an integral finding in numerous medical conditions and coincides with nearly all types of injuries and insults to the body. Numerous studies have reported chronic inflammation in Alzheimer's disease, Atherosclerosis, Autism, Cancer, Stroke, Diabetes, Traumatic Brain Injury and many other chronic health challenges. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been demonstrated to substantially attenuate inflammation throughout the body. HBOT drives increased levels of oxygen into the body which travels through the plasma, subsequently reducing inflammation and pain. Studies have shown that HBOT increases anti-inflammatory levels and provides increased cellular aid to heal target regions. As oxygen serves as one of the primary mechanisms to ameliorating inflammation, HBOT creates the environment where this process is stimulated and enhanced."  Hyperbaric Medicine & Recompression Chamber Operations Training Manual, International Board of Undersea Medicine, p 86

Mild HBOT may help with mild Traumatic Brain Injury and Concussions

Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries and concussions generally result from inflammation to the brain. There are several studies summarized below along with links to the research papers with references to the mild HBOT chambers available through O2You.

EcoParent - This article discusses concussions in children, and how mHBOT may be beneficial.

Frontiers in Neurology - This research paper discusses improved symptoms of people who had  post concussion symptoms for greater than 3 months.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Can Improve Post Concussion Syndrome Years after Mild Traumatic Brain Injury - This research paper concluded "HBOT can induce neuroplasticity leading to repair of chronically impaired brain functions and improved quality of life in mTBI patients with prolonged Post Concussion Syndrome at late chronic stage."

Mild HBOT may help Autism.

BCM Pediatrics Research Article - Indicates mHBOT was safe and well tolerated, and the conclusion was "Children with autism who received hyperbaric treatment at 1.3 atm and 24% oxygen for 40 hourly sessions had significant improvements in overall functioning, receptive language, social interaction, eye contact, and sensory/cognitive awareness compared to children who received slightly pressurized room air.

Mild HBOT  Study from Thailand - The results of this study indicated "Improvement was shown in five domains with a significant level. Seventy-fiver percent of children shown improvement while 25% did not seem to respond to the treatment.

Mild HBOT may help improve attention span and reaction time in people with toxic injury due to Mold Exposure.

Mold Toxicity - This article discusses results of individuals using mHBOT and shows improvements in attention span and reaction time, which can be a result of mold toxicity.
